Antimicrobial properties of aqueous and alcoholic leaf extracts of Launaea nudicaulis (Linn.) Hook. were investigated against six bacteria Bacillus subtilis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus using the agar disc diffusion method and agar well diffusion method. The aqueous extract was found to be effective against gram-positive bacteria and alcoholic extract was reported to be more effective against gram-negative bacteria. Of all the microorganism tested the gram-positive were slightly more susceptible to the extracts than the gram-negative bacteria.
