Uranium Mineralization and Spectrometric Prospecting along Trenches of Um Safi area, Central Eastern Desert of Egypt

Um Safi area is located in the southern part of the central Eastern Desert of Egypt, between latitudes 25°14` 56`` to 25°24` 05``N and longitudes 34°03` to 34°15`E. The basement rock units of Um Safi area is a part of the Arabian-Nubian Shield. They are represented by serpentines rocks, metavolcanics and related volcaniclastic, metagabbro - diorite complex and older granitoids. The whole sequence is intruded by different late-to-post tectonic younger granitoids and overlain by Hammamat mollasse sediments. These rocks are extruded by rhyolite stocks and trachyte plugs. The rocks are characterized by containing of mineralization as uraniumminerals (kasolite and meta-autunite), thorium minerals (thorite and uranothorite) and others minerals such as (brochantite, columbite, cassetrite, molybdite, pyrite, fluorite, zircon and monazite).
